Our last day in Paris…..

   Christmas at the Trocadero

Our last day in Paris –and I had a great lunch with the Aussie Lunch Bunch – 23 Australian women!!.

I’m only sorry I didn’t meet them all earlier – everyone is here with a different story, different lengths of time, different issues, etc. – so a lovely way to finish our stay here.

I have made some terrific friends – have certainly enjoyed exploring, and have loved the red wine and the pastis.

And having just finished our packing – we have:

 Luggage:     2 med suitcases

                    4 soft overnight bags

                     2 medium roll-on bags

                   3 suitbags

                   1 small roll-on bag – cabin luggage

                    2 lap-top bags for computers

1 small carry bag containing glass Christmas decorations!!

                    1 cabin bag

                    Handbag (small)

Wow, 17 pieces  -  this may be a bit of a challenge!!     Sam (our apartment manager) has ordered a station wagon taxi to take us to the airport!!!

So, just to finish off, a few of my “Delights of Paris’:

Listening to little children speaking French – aren’t they clever!

Winter time – and the trees are all bare and quite surreal

The
Eiffel Tower – seen from my train as I cross the river every day.

The Boulangerie at the end of my street – it sells 14 different types of bread,

and that’s not counting the croissants or the 8 types of baguettes!!

Coffee each morning at my morning café – and with aa new friend I have just met

Buying meat from my butcher,Monsieur Gilles

Reading the website of  Jon and Jack Faine (774 ABC Melbourne) as they drive

from Melbourne to London and having many fascinating adventures
Travelling with Ian to so many different European cities
Discovering BBC on my radio - what a breakthrough
Cyclamens and daisies growing on my balcony
Snow falling lightly and silently past my window

Listening to Vivaldi at St Chapelle and an organ recital at Notre Dame

Having so many friends to visit us here

Autumn leaves crunching underfoot as I walk through the Tuilleries

Strolling around the Madeleine or the St Germain area

The Louvre on a cold Sunday afternoon

Having Sam as our apartment manager – his help was invaluable, and
Writing my blog - it has been so much fun.

All in all, just a few memories of our time in Paris

Au revoir – a bientot from Paris

Happy Christmas, happy holidays and may your New Year be blessed with much

joy, peace, prosperity, adventure and no doubt challenges.
